Individual Kit

Here is everything I’ve thought of for the individual kit list. Let me know of anything that you think is missing, but make sure it’s not on the Team Kit page either before you do!

  • 1x Sleeping bag (not too heavy as it is likely to be warm)
  • 1x Sleeping rollmat
  • 2-3x sets of clothes. Make ‘em light, remember they will become sweaty ‘n’ ‘orrible and will need to be easily washed! Cycle shorts can be gotten which aren’t ridiculously tight if you don’t want to wear ridiculously tight ones – see here. Shop around – they are just one example.
  • 1-2x ‘eveningwear’ – stuff that will keep you warm in the evenings when things will be cooler
  • Extra socks/boxers/underwear etc. These will be needed more than regular clothes.
  • 1x Waterproof, highly visible shell. This should be as light as possible.
  • 1x fleece. Kind of goes under eveningwear/morningwear, but will be trĂ©s handy.
  • 1x Water bottle/camelbak/platypus (although in my experience platypuses tend to leak really easily)
  • 1x Wash kit (shampoo/soap (for clothes and person, toothbrush/paste etc, razor etc if you need one, deodorant might also come in handy, sunscreen (!), mosquito repellant (?))
  • Small, light towel (anti-bacterial/mould microfibre towels come highly recommended)
  • 1x Set of cycle lights, both front and rear.
  • 1x Cycle helmet. Make sure it’s comfy!
  • 1x torch/head torch for in the tent etc. If you can use your cycle light as one, that’s grand.
  • Spare batteries. Remember we can buy more of these potentially.
  • Pair of thin gloves for cycling if it’s cold/wet will be a lifesaver for your fingers.
  • Don’t forget your wallet/phone/camera/mp3/headphones, whichever of those you desire. I will likely bring my DSLR and act as photographer, but any further cameraship is up to you.
